The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is requisite examination for all graduate (MS) and doctoral programs, except Business, Law and Medicine for most of the American graduate schools. It is administered in English by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) on behalf of the GRE Board. It is a mandatory pre-requisite for admissions, program evaluation and selection of fellowship recipients in most American universities. The GRE is Computer Adaptive Test. This means that you start off with a question of moderate based on your performance the next question is thrown either of lesser or increased difficulty. Here, your performance, in the previous question determines the next question you receive to solve. This effectively means that in the verbal and quantitative sections you can’t go back and change you answer. More importantly, this means that different tests takers will be given different questions.
